Business Inclusion & Diversity Services (BIDS)

AFDO’s Business Inclusion & Diversity Services offers practical assistance and expertise to help employers become more confident, inclusive and accessible for both their employees and customers.  Developed over five years on the ground in regional Victoria, with evaluation by Deakin University, BIDS has successfully delivered its unique insights and supports to over 150 small to medium business nationally.

Being a disability confident workplace is simpler than you think.

We’re here to help you take that first step, by providing a customised approach to explore and understand what your business requires.

We then:

  1. Provide a tailored business review.
  2. Build leaders’ capabilities.
  3. Undertake a disability friendly check.
  4. Provide tools to support your business.
  5. Link you to providers who can support you further in your focus areas.

Our “disability confident” employers play an important role in changing attitudes for the better in Australia. They are changing the behaviour and cultures in their own businesses and communities and making the most of the benefits of inclusive recruitment practices.

With funding from the Australian Government Department of Social Services, BIDS is available to businesses in the following locations:
